Amex credit cards currently have the best offers, including cashback, rewards points, etc. They are a popular choice because they offer more than a standard credit card. These credit cards are a great option if you want a credit card with benefits. Here are my favourite Amex credit cards for 2024.

British Airways Amex 

This is my personal favourite Amex credit card. I have had this card for several years and have used it to earn Avios points, which I have used to pay for many economy and business class flights. 

For any spending that you do on the card, you earn Avios points. These Avios points can be used to get access to free flights, hotels, and more. You can pay in full or in part with Avios points, which makes it easier to use your points. 

• Free to sign up (no annual fee).

• For every £1 that you spend, you earn 1 Avios point. 

• You can also earn bonus Avios points if you use a special link to sign up: Use this link for 4000 free Avios points when you sign up. 

• You also get 5000 bonus Avios points if you spend £1000 in the first three months of having the card. 

• No annual fee (there is a paid version of this card but I think the free one is just as good.)

• Free lounge access when you use Avios points to pay for a business class ticket.

• Earn a companion voucher that you can use to book a free flight for a guest or get a 50% discount on the Avios price of a flight.

Nectar AMEX

This is a great option that allows you to earn Nectar points on your spending. You can get bumper Nectar points when you spend at Nectar retailers. Use these points to pay for your shopping and take advantage of the bonuses to make the most of this credit card.

• Free for the first year, then a £30 annual fee

• 20,000 bonus Nectar points when you spend £2000 in the first three months. 

• 2 points for every £1 you spend at any retailer in the UK or abroad.

• 3 points for every £1 you spend at Nectar retailers like Sainsbury's Argos and eBay. 

• 1 Nectar point is equal to £0.01 and you can use these to pay for your shopping at any Nectar retailer.

Overall

A perfect option for you if you do your grocery shopping at Sainsbury’s, as you can get big discounts on your shopping. Also, a good choice if you regularly shop at Nectar retailers. 

Platinum Cashback Everyday AMEX

This is a great option if you want to earn cashback from your credit card spending. 

• Free to sign up (no annual fee)

• Earn 5% bonus cashback for the first three months (up to £100)

• Earn £10 bonus cashback as well.

• Regular cashback of 0.5% on any spending up to £10,000 per year.

• If you spend more than £10,000, you earn 1% cashback. 

• There is no limit on cashback.

Overall

This is a great way to earn cashback from a credit card. Many credit cards do not offer any cashback or rewards, so this is a good choice if you are looking to earn rewards from your everyday spending. 

Preferred Rewards Gold

This credit card has some awesome perks to take advantage of.

• £195 annual fee

• 25,000 bonus points when you spend £3000 in the first three months. 

• Earn bonus points on your spending.

• 1 bonus point for every £1 you spend.

• 2 bonus points per £1 with airlines and 3 bonus points per £1 with Amex travel.

• Great perks include bonus points that can be used for travel and shopping.

• 4 airport lounge visits per year.

• £10 Deliveroo cashback every month.

• Use your earned bonus points to shop online at Amazon or pay for flights with British Airways, Virgin, and Emirates. 

Overall

A paid Amex card with great perks that make it worthwhile, particularly if you use your credit card a lot and want to take advantage of travel and shopping benefits. 

British Airways Premium AMEX

This is the paid version of the British Airways credit card. It may be worth it for you if you travel a lot or use the card a lot. 

• £250 annual fee.

• 25,000 bonus Avios when you spend £3000 in the first three months.

• 1.5 Avios points for every £1 you spend.

• 3 Avios points for every £1 you spend on British Airways

• Spend £10,000 to earn a companion voucher that allows you to take a guest for free or get a 50% discount on the Avios price of a flight.

Overall

A good paid version of the British Airways Amex credit card.

Platinum CASHBACK AMEX

This is the paid version of the cashback credit card mentioned earlier. It gives you better cashback rates so is worth considering. You also get extra bonus cashback, which balances out the annual fee (at least for the first year).

• £25 annual fee

• Earn 5% bonus cashback for the first three months (up to £125).

• Regular cashback of 0.75% on any spending up to £10,000 per year.

• If you spend more than £10,000, you earn 1.25% cashback. 

Overall

A good paid version of the cashback credit card which gives you slightly more cashback for every pound that you spend and a higher initial bonus.
